Author Bio: My name is MJ Daniels, 49; I am the author of Gangsta’ Lovin’ and Livin’ 1 and 2, plus Happiness Over Everything with more to come, born in the south, raised in South Central L.A. Married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years, together for 33 years with 7 kids. 2017 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Trigeminal Neurolgia, took my life from hard to hardest, but I won’t let it define me. I want to write books until I can’t… which can be any day!

Author/Writer Interview:
1.What inspires you most to write?
Songs! I hear a song and see a story then I run with it.
2. What is your favorite genre?
Urban Fiction
3. Who is one author you admire if any and why?
Ebony Diamonds, her books make you feel like you are there, like your friend is telling you what happened the other day.
4. How do you overcome blank writing spells?
Reset, usually doing a little gardening helps.
5. What legal publishing advice can you give?
Get your work published either self published or look into a publishing company.
6. How many books have you written, are any a bestseller yet?
Four, no best sellers… yet.

7. If you had the opportunity to rewrite one movie script which would it be, why?
I can’t think of a movie to rewrite.
8. What are some difficulties you've experienced in your writing career; how do you handle book critiques/criticism?
After writing my second book I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis & Trigeminal Neuralgia, I took it as a death sentence. Then I decided not to let that define me, I got stories to share so I am working through it!
9. What are your best experiences in your writing career?
Attending the Black Writers On Tour cultural event, I learned a lot amongst people who look just like me.
10. Do you prefer to write in silence and or have some sort sound in the background?
Either or, but I cannot write around people, I must be alone.
11. What are some encouraging words you'd give to another author/writer?
Don’t give up! It can be very frustrating but once you find your fit.., it’ll be worth it.
12. How did you decide the pricing of your material; how did you go about promotion/advertising and distribution of your work?
I try to keep me books affordable so my readers can buy the series.
My publisher, Stanley James, II and Gang Tales Publications plus my Publications family promote and advertise my book. My book is available on the Gang Tales website also available for purchase and download on Amazon.
13. Why should anyone read your book?
The story from the beginning will have you wanting more. Following LaTasha on her patch to find Happiness at any cost! There is repeatedly cheating, there’s an unexpected reunion, there’s a change from the present to the past then there’s psycho who changes everything, geesh. And that’s without telling the story.
14. Did you have a book coach?
No, honestly never heard of a book coach.
15. What was your favorite subject in school?
Math! I was great in math, calculus in the 11th grade.
16. Are you self-published or have an established publishing contract elsewhere?
GANG TALES PUBLICATION, I am a contracted author!
