ScreenWriter Interview:
1. How did you discover your passion for screen writing?
My passion for screenwriting came from a few films and series the biggest influence of all was “Scandal” a drama series written/created by the amazing Shonda Rhimes. The monologues, the character dynamics, the DRAMA! It made me want to be a better writer.
2. Who has been your biggest influence in the movie industry?
My biggest influences currently are Ava Duvernay and Lena Waithe, these are black women, black filmmakers who aren’t afraid to step outside of the box outside of what is considered comfortable and safe in this industry, telling the hard stories with grace while still keeping things entertaining.
3. Who are two actors you would like to work with, why?
If I had to only pick two to work with one day I guess I’d go with Kerry Washington and Lana Parrilla, the range those two women have as actresses. I’d be inspired and honored to work with them.

4. How many screenplays or scripts have written and or have produced? List titles please.
Whew! I’ve written/produced/directed a few:
“One Step Ahead” (series)
“Our Father” (feature film)
“Cass” (feature film)
“Hostage” (short film
“As Deep as Love Can Go” (short film)
“Where Heaven Meets Earth” (feature film)
“Internal Affairs” (Feature Film)
“Tilted” (stage play/musical)
“In My Shadow” (Series)
“Indiscretion” (Series)
5. What are some pitfalls you've experienced in your career?
Pitfalls? Most of mine would definitely be financial, but also having to learn the industry as I go, you often have to deal with people looking to take advantage of the services you can offer and others who aren’t willing to share their knowledge, As well as getting in the right doors. It took a while for me to learn how to market myself.
6. What are your best experiences in your career?
My best experiences would definitely be being surrounded by people who have poured into me and gave honest feedback on my screenwriting. Working with SAG affiliated actors just off them loving one of my scripts. It’s a top tier feeling!
7. Are you independent or do you have a contract with a movie producer?
I would technically be considered independent, but I am honored to be working with the producers at Thirty6Vision Studios(Redford, Mi)

8. What is your all time favorite movie or movies? Why? Would you change anything about the story plot?
I definitely don’t have an all time favorite movie. I’m a cinephile and enjoy different films for different reasons. In consideration I really love films like; American Son, The Five Heartbeats, Django, and soo many more!
