Author Bio: I am Irma M Taylor. I began my journey as a poet over 30 years ago. My book of poetry, BITTER HONEY, was the springboard for my first stage play, DAMAGED WOMAN’S BLUES. I am now a retired playwright who also acts on film.

Author/Writer Interview:
1.What inspires you most to write?
I am inspired to write when I'm hungry, I am inspired to write when I'm walking, I am inspired to write by life simply. Listening to a story on NPR. Thoughts are always around me from which to choose.
2. What is your favorite genre?
I can't say I have a favorite genre. I have science fiction, horror stories that come to me, but I have never finished those; maybe thats a challenge I should take upon myself.
3. Who is one author you admire if any and why?
I admire Toni Morrison, August Wilson, Octavia Butler and Stephen King. I admire any author who has the discpline to write continously, everyday without props or rewards from the outside, I see them as individuals who are true to their souls purpose.
4. How do you overcome blank writing spells?
Overcoming dry spells for me has been for me to get closer to God! What seperates me from him is worry, anxiety, and anything that does not prosper my life. Taking away food or taking in less of it also clears my mind, heart and soul.
5. What legal publishing advice can you give?
I had my book of original poetry published and printed by a local printing company. That made sense to me.
6. How many books have you written, are any a bestseller yet?
One. My poetry book. I have storylines I've started, but have not been discplined enough to finish. I must work on myself.
7. If you had the opportunity to rewrite one movie script which would it be, why?
Never occurred to me.
8. What are some difficulties you've experienced in your writing career; how do you handle book critiques/criticism?
I have sought criticing in the past. It was extremely helpful to me while writing a play. I see criticing as the evolution to a better story.
9. What are your best experiences in your writing career?
The best experience of my writing career came after my poetry blossomed into my first stage play. After producing it, then seeing and hearing it performed onstage, I had a “bucket list” occurrence. I felt so complete and fulfilled.
10. Do you prefer to write in silence and or have some sort sound in the background?
Icy silence.
11. What are some encouraging words you'd give to another author/writer?
Just write. Save it. Revisit it. See the growth, then write some more.
12. How did you decide the pricing of your material; how did you go about promotion/advertising and distribution of your work?
The pricing I determined from how much I spent having the books printed. No promotion as of yet. It is available upon request on my website. www.justanotherideaproductioncompany.com.

13. Why should anyone read your book?
My book of poetry stemmed from my own self-therapy in written form. If people like honest poetry about life’s flaws, bad choices, and frailties, then it may be for you. Especially women.
14. Did you have a book coach?
No.
15. What was your favorite subject in school?
Spelling.
16. Are you self-published or have an established publishing contract elsewhere?
Self-published.
