I’m an artist because art is the only place we can experience perfection.

"Street Light"
“This little light of mine/ I’m trying to let it shine/ this little light of mine/ I’m trying to let it shine/ Let me shine X3
I simply be/ simply me
Sipping sweet tea/ with a dash of Bacardi
I’m under age/ don’t judge me
I’m from a fatherless family
Raised by street philosophy
Where fear is the only currency
That’s why homies on the corner trying to make quota
Commission makes us look like chicken/ with a side and a soda
Cannibalism is how the system, mold us/ we lie and say we’re soldiers , when we know we’re really vultures/ just trying to survive like the roaches
I’m from the block where the hustlers be
A crackheads shopping spree
Where cops kill for free/ when your skin looks like we
My hood is like a Bermuda Triangle/
Circles come up missing/ find some rectangled
Cats working them angles like a modern day DJango
Chicks stay running game like Jenga
Pull out the wood too reckless/ game changer
9 months later child support strangler
I simply be/ simply me
Eating rice and beans/ three days a week
I’m from where life is grime and you reap when you sleep
Where the only time you see your father is on a milk carton, penitentiary/ or the cemetery
Where mamas working around the clock/ while you’re key latching and the block is the lock
I simply be/ simply me
I got caught doing the devils bid
I stand with Jesus / now I’m gonna win
I simply be/ simply me
I got sympathy /for the mothers raising babies individually
Having to break babies piggy bank to feed the family/ putting babies name on your utility / school is the only time your babies eat
Trust me Queen I got sympathy
I know y’all sleep/ head to feet on a mattress smelling like pee
I know y’all one Ramen noodle away from living on the street
I got sympathy for the Goons and the shooters who kill our people easily
I got sympathy for the cowards who leave or beat their babies to the third degree
I even got sympathy for the kids getting molested and women getting raped/ I hate you're carrying the weight / not your fault/ this is all a mistake
You see/ we are born with a love deficiency
We inherited a hate cycle/ and a scoreless FICO
Only way out /is to ball like Michael/ but too many away games/ makes a man go psycho
We’ve adopted a poverty mentality/ I know now that’s a fallacy/ no one ever became poor from giving too much/ God always blesses the generous/ with abundance/ trust
So When I kill you/ I kill me/ that’s why now I have sympathy
I simply be/ simply me
I’m a Street Light now
I found my hidden kingdom
I know now where my sins came from/ an ugly birth defects is the root of our predisposition / a taste for violence/ a disdain for kindness/ we do dirt in silence/ we’re depressed ventriloquist/ our guns speak for the dummy inside us
Every test becomes a testimony/ let us join in matrimony
All your mess becomes your message/ spread the message becomes the blessing
That’s how we stay connected
In order to truly live/ we got to forgive (x2)
Peep your reflection and pray for peace/ see your reflection/ it starts with me
Now you see/ to be simply me/ takes complexity
( come on y’all/ shine with me)
“My Jesus says shine your light on the world/ shine your light for the world to see/ I want my people to be free X2”
