My name is Destiny Francois, and I’m an upcoming filmmaker and founder of NubianFilmzProduction. I’m a Full Sail University alum, and my passion is telling stories that center around teen characters. Through my films, I aim to inspire and uplift young people who may be going through rough paths or difficult times, showing them that there’s always hope and another way forward. My goal as a filmmaker is to spark conversations, connect with audiences, and create meaningful impact through storytelling.

Screenwriter Interview:
1. How did you discover your passion for screen writing?
I always had a passion for writing, I started off as wanting to be an author and it transition to me wanting to see my writings come to life, which got me into screenwriting.
2. Who has been your biggest influence in the movie industry?
My biggest influence in the film industry are John Singleton, Spike Lee, and Tyler Perry.

3. Who are two actors you would like to work with, why?
I will love to work with Taraji P Henson and Angela Davis because I love how it’s no limitations on their talent, they can make any role come to life.
4. How many screenplays or scripts have written and or have produced? List titles please.
I have written three screenplays and I have multiple scripts written. I have two short films I have written and directed on YouTube titled “DateNight” and “I’m Trying”. I am currently working on another short film called “Unbreakable” that I am producing myself under my company name “ Nubian Filmz Productions.
5. What are some pitfalls you've experienced in your career?
Some pitfalls I experienced will be funding, but now that I am in the position to fund it myself I don’t have to go through the route of asking for donations, go fund me etc.
6. What are your best experiences in your career? My best experiences is always seeing ow an actor grow from auditions to rehearsals to being on set. How an actor bring the character to life. My best experiences is seeing my writings and visions come to life.

7. Are you independent or do you have a contract with a movie producer?
I am independent
8. What is your all time favorite movie or movies? Why? Would you change anything about the story plot?
My favorite movies are “The Grinch” and “What Love Got To Do With It” and I wouldn’t change anything about it. It was perfect writing, perfect cinematography, and perfect casting. Both movies portrayed a message, a lesson, while also being entertaining.
