Debotri Chakraborty

I chose poetry Because it’s the most honest way I can speak. My signature style lets me pour out emotions exactly as I feel them, without having to filter or change my voice. It’s where my heart feels at home.

A Poetry piece from Debotri:

"When It Finally Rained"

It didn't start with thunder.

Just silence

The kind that presses against your chest  Like it knows what you're waiting for.

The sky was heavy all day.

So wasI.

And then it broke.

The first drop hit the ground,

And something in me gave way too.  The scent of wet earth r0se up,

So sharp, so sudden,

It pulled me straight into a memory  I didn't know I still carried.

You.

The way your eyes looked in late Juty,  The way you laughed without thinking.  The way l held everything back  Because l didn't know

How much Il'd miss it later.

I didn't move.

I let the rain fall.

Let it soak into my clothes,  1y skin,

My breath.

It wasn't cold.

But it clung to me

Like you used to.

Then came the tears.

I wasn't sure at first.

Maybe t was just the rain

Slipping down my face.

But something behind my eyes  Had broken open

A quiet grief I never gave space to.

I stood there crying

But the raln made it easier.  No one could tel the difference.  Not even me.

There was no closure.

Just water

And the sound of everything

Coming back.

And maybe that's what love is sometimes  A storm you thought had passed,

Returning in silence,

Soft and ful of everything

You weren't ready to feel.
