Who I am is an all around multi talented Artist and Screenwriter who is passionate and caring about the well being of our people, ie the African Diaspora across the globe. I care about how we are portrayed. I dont care about how we look to other people. What matters is how we look to us because that's where our true power is ,what we think of ourselves and each other as a people. A number of Black people complain about the constant negative stereotypical portrayals of our people and how we wish we could see us portrayed in different lights. We'll I been dedicated and very intentional to do just that. Portraying us positively interacting with one another. Strong examples of Black Family, Friendship etc. Black people in healthy relationships with one another. Using my Artistry to Uplift, Enlighten, Heal, Empower, and unite our people. Inspiring us to love us.

Screenwriter Interview:
1. How did you discover your passion for screen writing?
As far as what got me into Screenwriting, I started writing plays and songs at age 9 or 10. Started Acting 5 or 6, Singing since 2. It just seemed like a natural progression for me to get into Film. I still do Theater too though, and always will.

2. Who has been your biggest influence in the movie industry?
As far as who in the industry who has had an impact on me, people like Oscar Micheaux, Chadwick Boseman and what he stood for; Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Ava Duvernay, Asim Amin and his work ethic.
3. Who are two actors you would like to work with, why?
Two Actors I would like to work with... well Chadwick Boseman and or Malcolm Jamal Warner would have been on my list if they were still here on earth, but I would love to work with Michael B Jordan and Taraji P. Henson . Taraji is a fellow Virgo and she embodies every role she takes on and has displayed so much range.
4. How many screenplays or scripts have written and or have produced? List titles please.
As far as screenplays, I have written and produced six of them. My first film SPEAK IT REAL, then a reboot of my first film. SPEAK IT REAL 2017, THE ETERNAL EXTRA, IN THEE EYEZ "OF", JUMBLED THOUGHTS and WE BRUVAHZ. Next up to be shot is my Film HAZE (IN THE FOG OF IT ALL).

5. What are some pitfalls you've experienced in your career?
As far as pitfalls, just financial challenges and trying to get recognition as a Screenwriter; who is unapologetic in my love for our people. In which shows up powerfully and clearly in my writing. When one is black and unapologetically so in their writing, we often get dissed, even by some other black creatives because they are fighting for a seat at a table controlled and manipulated by white people. Im working to build my own table and chairs for our people.
6. What are your best experiences in your career?
Best experiences was winning Best Short Film and Audience Choice Award in The Strong Chance Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York. It was surreal and so beautiful. I felt like my sacrifice to put my artistry on the line for our people was seen and appreciated because I sometimes get dissed and ostracized by our own people for having a black first mindset. You would think all black people would appreciate that, but some are so much about going along to get along, they will shun other black people who stand up for our people. A number of great moments have been as a performer too. Another great moment is witnessing an audience enjoying a short comedy I wrote ,produced and starred in. With comedy, you know right away if you did well or not by the laughter or lack of and I was so relieved when they laughed at every moment, I hoped they would laugh. That was my first comedy that I wrote. I do mainly drama.

7. Are you independent or do you have a contract with a movie producer?
Im totally independent and I prefer that. I do not want to be controlled by Hollywood and I don't want anyone trying to tell me what I can and cannot write because I refuse to do buffoonery and same old stereotypes. I do what the spirit calls on me and inspires me to write.
8. What is your all time favorite movie or movies? Why? Would you change anything about the story plot?
As far as a favorite movie or movies of all time. I cant really pinpoint one or a few but I have movies I like for different reasons. I hope this really helps as far as insight into me as a Creative and Screenwriter.

More about these titles: THE ETERNAL EXTRA has been in 7 Film Festivals and has won two awards, it is a drama. IN THEE EYEZ OF is a Quirky Comedy and it has won an award and has been in 2 Film Festivals. JUMBLED THOUGHTS has yet to be released. Im still waiting on that film to be scored.
