Author Interview:
1.What inspires you most to write?
First I love to tell a good detailed story and letting my imagination flow! Whether I am out or watching a good movie or show! I get inspired in some way to write. I have so many idea that sits in my head daily. To actually be in a position where I can publish my work and people love it is just a plus for me!
2. What is your favorite genre?
My favorite genre had to be Urban Hood romance series with a great storyline always gets me going. Not to turn away from a good single standalone novel.

3. Who is one author you admire if any and why?
One author that inspired me was Allison Hobbs. She has such attention to detail with her writing and wasn’t afraid to cross certain boundaries. In certain novels, authors be afraid to push the envelope, or stay in their safe space of writing. The way she introduced certain characters you can’t help but to relate to them in some ways.
4. How do you overcome blank writing spells?
Overcoming blank writing spells? First, I like to watch certain shows or movies. Preferably something I am writing about. If that doesn’t get me inspired I listen to music and brainstorm ideas in my head.
5. What legal publishing advice can you give?
First legal publishing advice I can give to another fellow author is to get your work copyrighted. Make sure what you work is rightfully yours and you can avoid plagiarism. Also if you are dealing with others on a project make sure something is in writing. Contract ect. Have great communication and stick to your word. Ask questions if you are curious.
6. How many books have you written, are any a bestseller yet?
I have written a total of 5 books so far. I didn’t reach the best sellers status yet but I am hoping one day!
7. If you had the opportunity to rewrite one movie script which would it be, why?
If I had the opportunity to rewrite one script it would be Queen and Slim. The movie and concept was good. The beginning was well put together. I personally just don’t agree with the ending.

8. What are some difficulties you've experienced in your writing career; how do you handle book critiques/criticism?
Some difficulties I experienced is trying to live up to expectations. Some authors are capable of publishing a novel every two months. More than a few times a year. Then there are some authors that are not as quick with their books, some of us grown very insecure and it gets pushed to writers block. ; Dealing with criticism and critiques, I simply let them have an opinion and keep going. Everyone is not going to love what you write and that’s ok! It’s ok to have their own opinion even if you don’t agree. I personally feel that long as no one is rude nor mean about it. We all can take some good constructive criticism. However DO NOT let it discourage you to write what YOU love.
9. What are your best experiences in your writing career?
I have many great experiences and small moments that grew to love and appreciate throughout my writing career so far. If I had to say a few: The first would be when I got signed to Gangtales Publications. I was the first woman signed and was welcomed with open arms. Second, publishing ‘In The Family.’ It was the first book I ever published on Amazon, debuting myself as an official author. Third, getting my first podcast interview. I am an introverted person at times and get nervous when I have to speak. I came to love it and look forward to other opportunities just like it.
10. Do you prefer to write in silence and or have some sort sound in the background?
I am definitely a music person when I am working. I have to have headphones in my ear and music blasting. Certain songs helps me get through some detailed sessions. For instance a scene where there is carnage and murder, or a scene where it’s some spicy intense sex. Music plays a big role in my novels.
11. What are some encouraging words you'd give to another author/writer?
Some encouraging words I would give another author would be to stay authentic! Take your time! Be your best self! Even if some readers don’t like your novels, stay writing what you love. Don’t change your momentum to please others. Do what works for YOU. I promise you WILL find your people. Lastly, step out of your comfort zone! You will be surprised at what you come up with.

12. How did you decide the pricing of your material; how did you go about promotion/advertising and distribution of your work?
Deciding the pricing of my material was difficult at first but I personally priced mine to stay fair with my pricing on Amazon. Signed copies are the same. I also love to have flash sales for those who are big supporters.
To promote my work I like to use quotes from certain novels I’ve written to peak some new readers. Also making short TikTok content with reviews from my readers.
13. Why should anyone read your book?
People should read my books because I love to please the both of us. Meaning myself and my writers. I put myself in their position and think what I would like to read. I will also add when I am working on my novels I am thinking as I write. Most of what I write comes off my head at that moment and if I love it, it stays. I love to be vivid and take my readers to a place where they can escape. My pen pulls you right in the middle of the chapter as if you’re watching a movie. If I am not pleased with what I’ve written I will rewrite it over until I get it right.
14. Did you have a book coach?
I did not have a book coach but I would be open to one. I am always open to learn and better my penmanship.

15. What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school was English. I personally liked some stories we had to read although they are very different from what I am writing today.
16. Are you self-published or have an established publishing contract elsewhere?
I have an establishing contract with Gangtales Publishing™️
