Pre-Interview: My pen name is Author Purpose, I came up with that pen name using my real name Nia. Nia comes from one of the days in Kwanzaa and means purpose. I started writing in 5th grade, as a coping mechanism and my love for reading and writing has grown from there. I'm Detroit born and Atlanta raised, I published my first book in 2017, and took an intermission, now I'm back and dropping my debut book on August 29th. I write about things I've experienced to help make others aware.

I take breaks, and give myself time to regroup to overcome writing spells.

I never had a book coach per se, My last publisher was basically my mentor and I learned a lot from her.
