My name is André L.A Blissett, I am a Jamaican-Canadian father to 8 children,
president of Blissett Legacy Entertainment Inc., a member of the CMPA,ACTRA,WGC
unions making me a Canadian film producer, writer, and performer I also direct. I feel
into the industry in 2019 by accident, learned about the term “above the line” then fell
into dedicated producing 2024! I love to teach people how to swim in the film industry!

Screenwriter Interview:
1. How did you discover your passion for screen writing?
I discovered my passion for screenwriting after I lost my son in 2022, his passing
put me in a state of mind that I never experienced before! My first written
screenplay is Crematorium, I submitted and won the pitch contest with Millennial
X, they then produced a small powerful scene from my script!
2. Who has been your biggest influence in the movie industry?
To be honest, I’ve never really been the type to be influenced by others, however
I do have a mentor his name is Ryan Singh, he always has advice to help me
grow as a producer!
3. Who are two actors you would like to work with, why?
The 2 people I would choose I have already worked with, that would be Smokey
Robinson for sure and Paul Sun Hyung Lee or Tony Nappo!
4. How many screenplays or scripts have written and or have produced? List titles please.
I have written 16 screenplays but I have only produced 7 UnIon projects of my
own, I have produced 4 other people’s projects as well!

5. What are some pitfalls you've experienced in your career?
Dealing with Union rules and regulations is the hardest part of this, I’m the kind of
person who has an answer for any problem that arises! Most recently, 16 hours
before my call time on a 5-day feature shoot, the project was pulled over a small
casting mistake and we lost almost $11,705! Never offer BG roles to people who
auditioned for a lead role!

6. What are your best experiences in your career?
Energy is everything! My best experiences come from my team, we have been
together for a year come September 8 th , they have all grown so much since we all
started, they’re always ready to show up for me and help me keep the ship a
float! I couldn’t do this without them, what good is a project without positive
collaboration and communication!
7. Are you independent or do you have a contract with a movie producer?
I am an independent producer at the moment however my name and film
company have been traveling through the industry, I have had 4 contracts
through mentoring people who wish to produce union film! Between the
paperwork and IPA rules, there is a lot of land mines to be mindful of!
8. What is your all time favorite movie or movies? Why? Would you change anything about the story plot?
My favorite movies would have to be “ Who Framed Roger Rabbit” , “ Spawn”
and “ Enter The Dragon”
Spawn and Enter The Dragon because these 2 movies I would watch
relentlessly, I loved to practice fighting techniques with them growing up!
Who Framed Roger Rabbit, I warped 2 tapes when I was younger, the one thing I
would change about this movie is what I learned when I got older, I was
conceived to it! In reality I would change how they hyper sexualized Jessica
Rabbit, I’m a firm believer that sex doesn’t have to sell a project, a well written
project already does that!
