Kayo

My name is Kierra “Kayo” Stanley. I am an actress, writer, director, producer, musician, and recording artist, based out of the Mobile area. Originally from Michigan. My main genre of writing is psychological thrillers and horror. Writing is my passion. 

Screenwriter Interview:

1. How did you discover your passion for screen writing?

 I discovered my passion for screenwriting when I took an elective class in my middle school year and it started off, as a basic improv class then moved on to actual screen writing class, where I had to submit screen plays for competitions and I was able to rank third place in my area. 

2. Who has been your biggest influence in the movie industry? 

My biggest influence I would have to say is Stephen King, M. Night Shyamalan and most recently Jordan Peele and Ryan Murphy. 

3. Who are two actors you would like to work with, why?

Jordan Peele as both an actor and a writer. And Sara paulson.

4. How many screenplays or scripts have written and or have produced? List titles please.

5. What are some pitfalls you've experienced in your career? 

Finding funding for the budgets. And reliable production companies, and reliable actors and actresses. Also wardrobes, accessories, and props. 

6. What are your best experiences in your career? 

Having the ability to create things that I see in my head and bring them to life, meeting new people with different types of creative ideas, and creating art where I am allowing people to transform themselves into other characters from my ideas.

7. Are you independent or do you have a contract with a movie producer? 

I co-own Mobties Film Productions with 2 of my brothers and I work very closely with Rachie Mack film productions and also with Kommittee films with Marcel Hudson.

8. What is your all time favorite movie or movies? Why? Would you change anything about the story plot? 

I am a huge Jurassic Park fan due to my love of dinosaurs. And the fact they keep creating the same movie with the same plot creating a fun place with animals that can’t be controlled no matter how much they try to control them.  I also like pretty much any M.  Night Shyamalan movie. The Village is also another one of my favorites. Also, the sixth sense and Signs. These movies have an amazing plot twist where the audience thinks that it’s pretty much one thing going on, but it turns out to be something else that has to be revealed at the end. 

With these Films, you may have to watch multiple times to get an understanding of what’s actually going on in the film and I wouldn’t change any of them. I love their story plots. Oh and Most recently A Silent Place. Were aliens pretty much come and take over the planet as hideous creature like beings. In this film you have to rely on other senses to survive without making loud noises that could cause you to perish.
